Chilliwack RCMP field over 25 fireworks complaints, arrest 10 on Halloween night

CHILLIWACK — Mounties in Chilliwack responded to a little under 100 calls for service on Halloween night over a 12-hour time period, marked by over a dozen fireworks complaints, 10 arrests and five public intoxication reports.

According to a social media post from police, Chilliwack RCMP fielded 94 calls for service marked by the following:

Fireworks complaints: 27
Drunk in public: 5
Fights: 2
Youth related files: 3
Immediate Roadside Prohibitions (IRPs): 3
24 hr driving prohibition (Drugs): 1
Motor vehicle collisions: 2
Arrested and spent the night in cells: 10

Proactive enforcement highlights:
No vehicle insurance & speeding
Stunting with a 7 day vehicle impound
Driving Prohibition notice served

Police say they performed licensed premises checks alongside a liquor licensing inspector, visiting the following businesses: Major League, Jolly Miller, Cultus Lake Pub, Duke’s Pub, Cannabis Connection, Seed and Stone, Hugo’s, Fortitude, The Offy, Bow and Stern, Field House Brewing, Red Chillies, ANAF, Rana’s Fusion, Chillibowl Lanes, Corky’s, Characters, Town Hall, Lakeside Beach Club, Sidekick Brewing, Kelly O’Briens and Luxe Nightclub.

“Thank you to all the officers and partner agencies for their dedication to keeping our communities safe during a rainy Friday Halloween night,” Chilliwack RCMP wrote on Facebook.
