HOPE — Hope residents are invited to run – or walk – five kilometres next weekend for a good cause.

On October 4, the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation (FVHCF) will be hosting its annual Run for Hope, a fundraiser for Fraser Canyon Hospital.

“Every step taken and every dollar raised will directly benefit Fraser Canyon

Hospital, ensuring that healthcare professionals have much-needed equipment to

provide top-tier care to residents of the Fraser Canyon region,” said the FVHCF.

“The funds will significantly enhance the hospital’s capacity to serve its community with modern medical tools and resources.”

Pets, strollers and participants of all ages are welcome to join the 5K loop around the Coquihalla River and through Thacker Park.

Anyone interested in joining can register at 9 a.m. on-site or online through the FVHCF website. The race is set to start at 10 a.m. at Fraser Canyon Hospital.

Last year’s run raised over $4,000, helping the hospital purchase a new positioning chair for its Medical Imaging Department.
