HARRISON — Some patients in the Village of Harrison won’t have to travel very far to receive the care they need after the grand opening of a health centre.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Tuesday, July 29, for the newly opened Village Health Centre located at 102-160 Lillooet Avenue. Guests also enjoyed a walk-through of the facility over coffee and conversations.

Mayor Fred Talen was among those present at the clinic that day.

“The opening of the Village Health Centre is a meaningful step forward for our community,” he said. “This new clinic is the result of partnerships and shared commitment to improving local access to health care.”

The Village Health Centre is a collaboration between Fraser Health and the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation.

Services offered at the primary care provider will be an extension of those at the Agassiz Community Health Centre and will be delivered by a nurse practitioner on-site.

Agassiz Community Health Centre clients can call 604-703-2030 to schedule an appointment at the new clinic. Anyone without a provider is encouraged to register through HealthLinkBC or call 8-1-1.
