CHILLIWACK — The City of Chilliwack’s latest installations are making a splash in two different parks this summer after a $75,000 donation from the Mt. Cheam Rotary Club.

Mayor Ken Popove, as well as some city councillors, joined the Club on Thursday (July 31) to unveil the new structure at Fairfield Park.

“We’re thrilled to open two new compact Spray Zones in our city, thanks to the generous support of the Mt. Cheam Rotary Club,” said Mayor Popove.

“Their contribution helps us create more vibrant, family-friendly spaces and supports our ongoing efforts to make Chilliwack a great place to live.”

Both spray zones in Fairfield and Webster Parks feature four small spray installations and a concrete water collection area. Users can also activate each structure with a push-plunger switch that resets after 45 seconds.

“We are excited to be part of a new way for children and their families to have fun in their neighbourhood during our warm summers,” said Rotary President Kim Ashley.

These projects now mark the second and third such structures since the City unveiled one in Philippson Family Park in late June.
