Abbotsford-area accountant, former naval officer ends campaign for MLA
ABBOTSFORD — An Abbotsford finance professional and former naval officer says he has ended his plans to run in this year’s provincial election, following Kevin Falcon’s stunning decision Wednesday to pull out of this year’s provincial election and effectively end BC United as a political party.
Markus Delves, who announced in December 2023 that he would run in the Abbotsford South riding for BC United, says his campaign has come to an end.
“Although my campaign is ending, I remain deeply committed to the well-being of Abbotsford and will continue to find ways to make positive impacts in the community,” said Delves, a dedicated volunteer who is heavily involved in multiple non-profit groups throughout Abbotsford.
BC United Leader Kevin Falcon’s decision to pull his party from the upcoming campaign has now opened the province to a clear left-versus-right choice for voters, but left candidates like Delves high and dry.
