BC Wildfire battling new fire 25 kms north of Chilliwack, believed to be human-caused

AGASSIZ — BC Wildfire Service reports a new fire has broken out just west of Hemlock Valley in what is being called the Chehalis Lake South wildfire.

According to an update on the BCWS website, the Chehalis Lake South wildfire has been estimated at 28 hectares in size as of Monday, August 28 at 3:22 p.m.

It was first discovered on Sunday, August 27 at 3:38 p.m. Authorities say the fire is out of control and is suspected of being caused by human activity, whether intentionally or unintentionally.
