Another smoky day ahead for Fraser Valley
CHILLIWACK — Smoke from wildfires in British Columbia’s interior and Washington State will continue to dominate the Fraser Valley airshed Saturday.
An Air Quality advisory remains in place due to the high level of fine particulate matter carried by the smoke.
Those with pre-existing health conditions should pay close attention to their breathing during air quality advisories. Those at risk should postpone or reduce outdoor physical activity while smoky conditions are present, especially if breathing feels uncomfortable. Indoor spaces such as a room in your home with filtered air or a public building such as a library or a mall, can offer relief.
The Fraser Valley Regional District says anyone experiencing symptoms such as chest discomfort, shortness of breath, coughing or wheezing should seek prompt medical attention. In the case of an emergency, call 911.
