CHILLIWACK — The BC SPCA works tirelessly to protect and enhance the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in BC, and the Chilliwack SPCA facility on Hopedale Road in Greendale has a similar mission taking care of cats, dogs, rabbits and other animals.

Earlier this week, the BC SPCA in Chilliwack wrote on social media that it will be closed to the public until further notice.

“Due to an increase in animal care needs, the Chilliwack BC SPCA will be closed to the public, until further notice,” it wrote on Facebook on Tuesday, August 15. “We thank the community and all the volunteers that help with the Chilliwack BC SPCA as well as your patience and understanding,” ending the sentence with a heart.

A Fraser Valley Today reporter drove by the Hopedale Road facility Wednesday morning and saw the closed sign near its front entrance, and heard cats meowing from inside the gate.
