Elderly man reportedly assaulted over the weekend in Chilliwack

CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack RCMP, Chilliwack Fire Department and BC Emergency Health Services personnel were dispatched early Sunday morning for the report of an elderly man who was allegedly assaulted.

According to scanner traffic overnight, an elderly man was reportedly hit on the head and suffered a laceration on his forehead, prompting a multi-agency response Sunday, August 6 at about 12:05 a.m. to Margaret Avenue in Chilliwack.

Margaret Avenue is a three-block street running east-west that starts near Ruth and Naomi’s in the downtown core and dead ends at Hazel Street north of First Avenue.

Paramedics with BC Emergency Health Services reportedly arrived on scene at about 12:35 a.m. It is not known if the man was transported to hospital or if he was treated at the scene.
