Run for Mom draws record number of participants on Mother’s Day in Chilliwack
CHILLIWACK — The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation says the 23rd annual Run for Mom event on Sunday, May 14 along the Vedder Rotary Trail in Chilliwack attracted a record-high number of registrations this year.
In a press release issued Wednesday (May 24), FVHCF reports 163 attendees turned out for this year’s event, which raises funds for the maternity ward at Chilliwack General Hospital.
“The turnout for Run for Mom was fantastic” said Liz Harris, executive director for FVHCF. “We had 163 attendees who helped raise $5,900 for the Maternity Department at Chilliwack General Hospital. These funds are used to purchase supplies and needed equipment in your community.”
The fundraiser brought out more than just moms and their kids running or walking along the picturesque trail that runs parallel to the gorgeous Vedder River. Dads and grandpas were there to support families.
