UPDATE: Knight Road in Chilliwack blocked while police incident underway
UPDATE – 9 a.m., May 23 – CHILLIWACK — Witnesses report the home at the centre of the police incident overnight, burned to the ground. Images of the fire were circulating on social media around 1 a.m. There has be no further updates from emergency officials.
UPDATE – 5 a.m., May 23 – CHILLIWACK — Upper Fraser Valley RCMP report via a Tweet at 2:20 a.m. on May 23, that the police incident along Knight Road is over. Authorities thank the public for their cooperation and advise homeowners they are now free to travel to and from their properties. No details of the incident are released however police expect to release more information later today.
UPDATE – 8:15 p.m. – CHILLIWACK — The Upper Fraser Valley RCMP have confirmed officers are on the scene of a high-risk police incident involving shots being fired. Police are asking residents in the area of Knight Road near Melville, Queens, and Downes to shelter in place and stay away from external walls. The incident is in the 46000 block of Knight Road. Police are also asking residents to resist the urge to post images on social media.
CHILLIWACK — A police incident in Chilliwack Monday (May 22) evening has led to a large presence of RCMP officers blocking an area along Knight Road to Chilliwack River Road.
