Downed wires close Abbotsford intersection

ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford motorists were faced with a detour around the intersection of Marshall Road and Townline Road Saturday (Mar. 18).

Abbotsford police were called out to assist Abbotsford Fire Rescue Services in dealing with a two-vehicle collision around 8:30 a.m. The collision resulted in damage to a utility pole and left live electrical wires stretched across the road.

BC Hydro crews were called to the scene to deal with the wires and the utility pole.

While police did not release information on the cause of the two-vehicle crash, they say impairment was not a factor. Both drivers suffered minor injuries.
