Some city streets partially flooded after freezing rain gives way to heavy rain
CHILLIWACK — Now that freezing rain has temporarily subsided for the most part in Chilliwack, the heavy precipitation earlier today has given way to partial flooding and water pooling on parts of Keith Wilson Road and in Garrison Crossing, and likely in other parts of Chilliwack.
Crews were out at 2:30 p.m. this afternoon (Christmas Eve) clearing what looked like a foot water pooling at the corner of Keith Wilson Road and Vedder, before moving up the road to the corner of Vedder and Stevenson Road and parts of Promontory.
Parts of Keith Wilson Road between Vedder and the Tyson roundabout also had excessive water pooling along the shoulder in each direction.
In Garrison Crossing, at least a foot of water was pooling outside the Garrison Liquor Store on Market Way, along with parts of Tamihi Way.
