MANNING PARK — Highway 3 between Sunshine Valley and Princeton won’t be closed after all today.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure clarified just after 10 a.m. Saturday morning (Christmas Eve) that a tweet from Manning Park Lodge about Highway 3 being closed for avalanche control purposes wasn’t exactly correct.

“We have confirmed that the tweet from Manning Park Lodge about a closure for avalanche control was sent in error,” Drive B.C. wrote on Twitter Saturday (Dec. 24). “There is no planned closure for Hope to Princeton.”

Manning Park Lodge had announced Friday night on Facebook that avalanche hazard control measures would be in place today and close the highway to all traffic east of Sunshine Valley, and west of Princeton.
