Real Estate Board lights up centennial celebration

ABBOTSFORD — The Fraser Valley Real Estate Board celebrated its centennial with the unveiling of a unique monument in Surrey last week.

The light-up bench is meant to raise awareness of the role its member realtors play in building strong, vibrant, and desireable communities in the Fraser Valley.

“It fills us all with an incredible sense of pride on what we, and those before us, have been able to achieve in the communities in which we work, live, play, and learn,” said Sandra Benz, the president of the Board.

The real estate board was founded founded October 19, 1921. It has grown to nearly 5,000 members, supporting realtors in Abbotsford and six other regions for over 100 years.
