Indigenous panelists to educate and inform at Chilliwack Chamber luncheon event on November 2
CHILLIWACK — Truth and reconciliation is top of mind these days for individuals who want to build bridges with the Indigenous community and its allied First Nations, particularly as Chilliwack has a sizable and thriving Indigenous population.
The Chamber invites the Chilliwack community to an informative Q&A event as it hosts an educational conversation with local Indigenous Leaders that will include lunch on Wednesday, November 2 from noon to 3 p.m. at Tzeachten First Nation, 45855 Promontory Road, in Chilliwack.
The event will be moderated by Councillor Sandra Bonner-Pederson from Tzeachten First Nation. Panelists will include Chief David Jimmie of Squiala First Nation, Chief Derek Epp of Tzeachten First Nation, Chief Robert Gladstone of Shxwha:y Village, executive director Willy Hall, and MT+Co CEO and chair Rob Miller. They will be speaking on some of the following key topics:
- Economic development
- Taxation
- Procurement processes
- Infrastructure upgrades
- Relationships and collaboration
