HOPE — Hope firefighters are ready for just about anything that comes their way.

The department says quick action by its fire crews enabled them to contain a vehicle fire that actually extended into the nearby brush along Highway 1 near exit 168 (Flood-Hope Road) Monday night.

In a social media post, the department says the initial call came in at approximately 10:25 p.m., at which point six firefighters responded.

The vehicle occupants were able to escape.

No injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire remains unknown as of Tuesday morning.

It was the second vehicle fire in roughly two and a days faced by the department.

Fire crews in Hope snuffed out an RV fire Sunday morning (Sep. 7). Nine members of the Hope Fire Department responded to the call at around 7:30 a.m. near the Flood Falls trail access road. While the blaze did extend into a nearby forest, crews were able to contain it before it spread even further.
