CHILLIWACK — A franchise selling collectibles, plush toys and other home goods is coming to the Cottonwood Centre mall in Chilliwack next month.

Mark Davis, general manager of leasing company Warrington PCI, told Fraser Valley Today in an email that MINISO will open in the former Laces retail storefront in early October.

Fraser Valley Today followed up with Davis to ensure that it was the same MINISO that sold things like collectibles and some Japanese-themed merchandise, to which Davis said yes, that was the retailer.

The expanding retailer is synonymous with a variety of product categories, featuring lower-priced goods like plush toys, home décor and organizers, beauty and wellness, fashion accessories, and electronics. It has positioned itself in the market by showcasing unique, affordable products whose offerings are updated every seven days to ensure inventory is not stale or static.

MINISO has over 5,000 stores open across the globe. It began its foray into the United States in 2017 by opening in West Coast markets. It experienced successful sales results and expanded its footprint across the U.S. and Canada.

The nearest location to Chilliwack is at the Sevenoaks Shopping Centre in Abbotsford. There are two MINISO locations apiece in Surrey and Richmond, and solo locations in Burnaby, Vancouver, North Vancouver and Coquitlam.

Davis also told Fraser Valley Today that Rough Ride Clothing has opened in unit 17 at the mall, next to Telus.
