Bell leads the way as Ticats topple Alouettes 26-9 to snap three-game losing streak
MONTREAL — Hamilton Tiger-Cats running back Greg Bell looked at the skies opening up on Saturday afternoon and thought to himself that it just might be his day.
Bell ran for 156 yards and one touchdown on 20 carries as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats defeated the Montreal Alouettes 26-9. With 234 total yards on the ground, it was not only Hamilton’s best rushing performance of the season, but their first game over 100 yards as a team.
“The (offensive) line opening up holes, great play calling, and the running backs and the quarterback doing what we did,” Bell said about the reason behind the team’s success.
“I get a lot of questions about why we don’t run more, and the reason is because we’re good at the pass game,” Hamilton head coach and offensive coordinator Scott Milanovich said. “We go with whatever’s working, obviously with the weather early in the game, the run was working, it was the right way to go.”
