Plate champion Mansetti installed as early 2-1 favourite for Prince of Wales Stakes
FORT ERIE — Mansetti and jockey Pietro Moran will take a shot at the OLG Canadian Triple Crown.
Mansetti, which won the King’s Plate with apprentice Moran aboard, will run in the $400,000 Prince of Wales Stakes on Tuesday at Fort Erie Racetrack. Mansetti is the early 2-1 favourite in the seven-horse field.
The decision to run Mansetti in the second jewel of the Canadian thoroughbred racing Triple Crown wasn’t a surprise.
Last week, trainer Kevin Attard said all signs pointed to Mansetti racing in Fort Erie pending a final training session on dirt, the surface the 1 3/16-mile Prince of Wales will be run on.
