11 in jail after overnight incidents in Abbotsford Saturday

ABBOTSFORD — Frontline officers in Abbotsford have been hard at work this long weekend, with Saturday night (Aug. 30) being especially taxing.

The Abbotsford Police Department have removed nine impaired drivers from the roads, and 11 other people are in jail due to overnight incidents.

One notable incident included a known property offender who breached his court conditions, driving away from patrol officers before being apprehended shortly after.

An officer was also assaulted during the night and left without injury. That suspect is now in custody for a bail hearing.

AbbyPD is urging residents to complete the Community Safety Survey before it ends today (Aug. 31).
