Aug 29, 2025 | 10:47 AM

CHILLIWACK — You might expect a stand-up comedy event featuring three talented performers to be held at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre or Elements Casino in Chilliwack.

But that’s about to change next month when Travis Arthur, Harmeet Singh Kohli, and Elizabeth Stanton gather at John’s Fried Chicken (45731 Hocking Ave.) in Chilliwack hoping to put on a show on Saturday, September 20 at 7 p.m.

Travis Arthur is a single dad who was born in Canada and raised in America and not quite sure where he really fits in best. His comedy pitch features storytelling from his trials and tribulations of being a parent, as well as reflecting on his time growing up in America and all the differences. Recent shows of his have included Laffs Fest Abbotsford and Yuk Yuks Surrey. He won the Rose Show competition in Delft, Netherlands.

Harmeet Singh Kohli is a multilingual stand-up comedian based in Vancouver who integrates cultural insight with sharp wit, tackling topics like cultural appropriation, racism, and awkward auntie encounters in English, Punjabi, and Hindi. Born in India, raised on Bollywood and butter chicken, Harmeet now performs across Canada and the U.S. His stand-up special, “White Samosa”, is a spicy mix of comedy that flips clichés and breaks barriers. He teamed up with Chris Reinhardt for a comedy night in Kelowna on July 11, and performed a Hindi standup comedy show in Langley, BC, on August 9.

Elizabeth Stanton is a professional stand-up comedian and comedy songwriter and singer. She’s been working her magic performing on stage and in video for over eight years, taking her to places like Calgary, through the U.S. and Europe before 2020, including performing at the World Famous Comedy Store in L.A., and on “This Week Sucks Tonight” in Phoenix. She has hosted and headlined over 17 original comedy shows, especially in the last few years, under the names “Fringe-Tastic Comedy” and now “Conscious Comedy.” These shows have been a big success and had great turnouts, even being featured on Rebel News. She is known for her quirky, dark, introspective, and political jokes, and plucky demeanour.
