Huitema Read kicks off Chilliwack City Council campaign at Cultural Centre
CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack City Council candidate Nicole Huitema Read launched her campaign Tuesday evening (Sept. 27) before a packed room of supporters at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre.
According to a press release issued by her campaign, Huitema Read touched on a number of issues as she addressed supporters. She says she spoken to Chilliwack residents and heard their concerns around transportation, public safety, and homelessness.
“During the early days of this election campaign I have been out in neighbourhoods, knocking on doors, and holding important conversations about the things that matter to all of us,” says Huitema Read. “I’m hearing a lot of concerns about roadways, our crime rate, and our homeless population. These are the issues we all agree need more action, so as a community that requires leaders that know how to bring us together.”
Attendance to the event was open to all Chilliwack residents, and a packed room of supporters turned out to participate in this year’s municipal election and be a part of shaping the future of Chilliwack, the campaign said.
