Downed trees cut power to nearly 2,000 residents near Chilliwack, Kent

CHILLIWACK — A crew has been sent out to restore power to over 1,850 residents in Chilliwack and the District of Kent Saturday afternoon (July 12).
Emergency crews were dispatched to a tree coming down on some power lines on Lougheed Highway, northeast of Harrison Mills, at around 9:30 a.m. before BC Hydro reported another outage southwest of the same area at 1:23 p.m.
Repairs are underway to restore electricity in that area of Highway 7.
Power is expected to come back by 4:00 p.m.
