48-year-old man transported to hospital after daytime shooting in Langley
LANGLEY — Mounties in Langley say a 48-year-old man was transported to hospital following a report of shots fired near 200 Street and Willoughby Way Monday afternoon.
According to a statement from Sgt. Zynal Sharoom, Langley RCMP personnel responded to an incident of shots fired close to Meadows Edge Park in Langley Monday at about 5:32 p.m. Frontline officers attended the scene and located evidence consistent with a shooting. A 48-year-old man has been transported to a local area hospital for further assessment.
“The investigation is still in its early stages and Police are working to determine the possible motive for the shooting,” said Sgt. Sharoom.
According to Global BC reporter Simon Little, police vehicles surrounded a black BMW SUV near the scene. The park was cordoned off behind police tape, and police personnel had positioned an evidence marker next to a baseball hat at the scene.
