Road closes as crews respond to Lougheed Highway fire in Mission Sunday

MISSION — A portion of Highway 7 has been closed to traffic as Mission fire crews respond to a fire in the area.

First responders were paged out to a fire in the woods at around 11:20 a.m. Sunday (Jul. 6). Flames reportedly reached up to 20 feet tall, according to radio scanners, and emergency health services have been called to help at least one burn victim.

DriveBC said the Lougheed has been closed to eastbound traffic between Riverview Street and Catherwood Street due to the incident.

Google Maps shows a roughly two-minute delay in the area at the time of writing.
