VANCOUVER ISLAND – A 52-year-old commercial transport driver in B.C. is facing several traffic violations after he was caught driving in the wrong direction of Highway 1 on Vancouver Island.
West Shore RCMP spokesperson Corporal Nancy Saggar says RCMP members responded to several complaints about a commercial transport truck travelling against traffic early Saturday morning, June 13, at 4:40 a.m.
Callers advised the truck was travelling north bound in the south bound lanes near the Helmcken Road exit in the greater Victoria area.
Officers immediately attended the area and located the truck, attempted to pull it over. The truck failed to stop initially, but later came to a stop near the Leigh Rd exit.
