Abbotsford Hospital Auxiliary celebrates 104th anniversary
ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Regional Hospital’s long-time supporter has recently celebrated more than a century of service in the community.
For its 104th birthday, the Auxiliary reflected on several milestones from the past decade, such as reaching $1,000,000 in 2016 and again in 2024. These funds helped support the purchase of a new bus for Cottage and Worthington, a long-term care facility, as well as the acquisition of much-needed medical equipment and programs such as:
- Emergency Room cupboard
- Rapid infusion pump for large volumes of blood and IV fluids, particularly in emergencies with significant blood loss.
- Hyperthermia blanket
- Ventilator
- C-arm to perform X-rays for surgical and orthopedic procedures
“The Abbotsford Regional Auxiliary is defined by kind people who care, their dedication to purchasing much-needed equipment and supporting key programs ensures that our hospital can provide the best possible care to our community,” said Elizabeth Harris, executive director of the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation (FVHCF).
