CHILLIWACK — Two people had to be extricated from their vehicles following a traffic collision near Wellington Avenue and Corbould Street Wednesday night in Chilliwack.

According to scanner traffic, Chilliwack Fire Dept., B.C. Ambulance Service and Chilliwack RCMP personnel were notified about a traffic collision at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Scanner traffic indicated two people had to be extricated from the vehicles involved in the crash. Air bags deployed in one of the vehicles.

Three ambulances were dispatched, in addition to Engines 1 and 4 from Chilliwack Fire.

A person on Facebook claimed a vehicle did not stop at the intersection of Wellington and Corbould.

“Vehicle ran the stop sign at the Wellington and Corbould 4- way, woman who’s car got hit went into a power pole then into our front fence, and is stuck in her vehicle because her doors won’t open,” Rosally Dawn Fauht wrote on Facebook. “Unsure of any injuries. My kids just called me to let us know. Emergency vehicles on scene. Hope everyone involved is ok.”

Pictures taken by Chilliwack resident David Seltenrich show a damaged vehicle near a hydro pole that needed to be fixed, as well as an RCMP vehicle next to a second vehicle involved in the collision. The second vehicle in the crash wound up in a yard.
