Agassiz-area host families needed to house Japanese exchange students in 2025

AGASSIZ — Agassiz-area families are invited to welcome international exchange students into their homes as part of a program through the Fraser-Cascade School District.

Mika Hampton from Space Canada says the organization is looking for host families who will host students from Japan for a month. The students arrive on Valentine’s Day, February 14, and leave Sunday morning, March 16.

Hampton says the students will attend the secondary school in Agassiz on weekdays and would like to spend time with host families on weekends.

Host families are asked to provide a private room with a bed, desk and chair, three meals a day, and a welcoming environment. In return, host families receive $950 for the month and an opportunity to exchange different cultures.
