Hundreds without power in Lytton, Fraser Canyon as 100-ha wildfire rages

FRASER CANYON/LYTTON/SPENCES BRIDGE – On top of dealing with a wildfire that has swelled to 100 hectares Friday night, hundreds are without power in the Fraser Canyon and Lytton area.
In the Lytton and Spences Bridge areas, 840 customers saw their electricity go out at 5:49 p.m., the exact same time as the outage in the Fraser Canyon. Crews have been assigned.
BC Hydro’s online dashboard indicates 163 customers from Canyon Alpine to Kanaka Bar lost power at 5:49 p.m. due to the nearby fire. Crews are expected to arrive by 10:30 p.m. to repair the outage.
