Suspect in Edmonton-area bank robberies arrested in Chilliwack: RCMP
EDMONTON — A 30-year-old man from Chilliwack is facing four charges in connection with a pair of July bank robberies in and around Edmonton, Alberta.
Alberta RCMP say the first robbery occurred at a CIBC in Spruce Grove around noon on July 17, when the accused handed a note to a teller saying, “This is a robbery.”
After telling the bank employee he had a gun and demanded cash, he walked out after being handed money, according to investigators.
The following day, Edmonton Police say the same suspect entered a Servus Credit Union in the city’s southwest around 3 p.m. local time, wearing a long-sleeved burgundy shirt, grey and white striped pants, a ball cap, and a purple mask, and again demanded cash.
