Another $240K earmarked for Mission Museum restoration project
MISSION – Joint funding from a non-profit and the city is set to contribute to the next phase of the Mission Museum restoration project, which is now in its third year.
The Mission District Historical Society will benefit from $240,000 provided by Heritage BC and the City of Mission’s Forestry Legacy Reserve. This funding will be used for era-specific cedar shingle siding, restored windows, and exterior doors.
Additionally, the money will facilitate repairs to the front entrance and the painting of the entire building.
Originally a branch of the Canadian Bank of Commerce built in 1907, the First Avenue building was relocated to its current location on Second Avenue in 1947.
