Regional aquatic centre officially breaks ground in Agassiz
AGASSIZ — Without further delay, dignitaries have broken ground on the forthcoming regional aquatic centre in Agassiz.
According to an X (Twitter) post from Agassiz-area MP Brad Vis, a groundbreaking ceremony was held Monday to officially mark the start of the $23.4 million Lets’mot Regional Recreation and Aquatic Centre in Agassiz.
“A big thank you to Mayor Pranger, CAO Wallace Mah and everyone who made today’s Lets’mot Regional Aquatic Centre ground breaking ceremony a reality,” MP Brad Vis said. “This Centre is a true testament to the power of community and what can be achieved when we work together. I can’t wait to celebrate when it finally opens!
The District of Kent in Agassiz said in May 2024 that council had unanimously approved the issuance of a letter of intent to a contractor for the construction of the Lets’emot Regional Recreation and Aquatic Centre.
