City of Chilliwack to vote on $134K contract for trail stairs, pedestrian pathway for south-facing Little Mountain trail
CHILLIWACK — This is the spectacular view the City of Chilliwack hopes to bring trekkers up Little Mountain, minus the dreaded mosquitoes of course.
Chilliwack City Council will vote on a request for quotation this Tuesday (August 2) to have House to Home Landscaping build approximately 340 recycled stair treads up the southwest hillside of Little Mountain facing south.
The $134,432.80 contract calls for the supply and installation of 6-foot by 6-foot posts to act as stair treads, according to a city staff report prepared by Richard Fortin.
Three companies attended a mandatory site meeting, as is custom with city tenders and requests for proposal, on July 7. Of the three companies, only one, House to Home Landscaping, submitted a quotation that was found to have met the technical and financial requirements of the project.
