Truck carrying live chickens crashes in Chilliwack Tuesday morning
CHILLIWACK — A truck carrying live chickens crashed into a ditch on Upper Prairie Road Tuesday morning (Apr. 9), resulting in power lines to fall onto the truck and the nearby train tracks.
According to scanner traffic, Chilliwack Fire, Chilliwack RCMP and B.C. Ambulance were dispatched to Upper Prairie Road north of Chilliwack Central Road after a commercial truck crashed sometime after 8 a.m. and wound up on its side, causing a power line to come down on the truck itself.
Scanner traffic indicated contact would be made with the farm where the live chickens originated so that the livestock could be taken care of.
Two paramedics could be seen treating a middle-aged man who may have been the commercial driver himself. His condition is not immediately known.
