ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department says a 31-year-old man has been transported to hospital for life-threatening injuries following a collision involving a pedestrian.

According to a news release from Constable Art Stele, Abbotsford Police Department officers responded to the area of North Parallel Road and Fooks Road on Thursday, January 18 at 6:16 a.m. for a reported collision involving a pedestrian.

Officers arriving at the scene located a 31-year-old male who sustained serious and life-threatening injuries. Medical aid was immediately provided, and the male was transported to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Impairment is not believed to be a factor in the crash, with inclement weather and snow likely being contributing factors, Constable Stele said.
