City of Chilliwack says all available crews are working to clear the city of snow Wednesday

CHILLIWACK — The City of Chilliwack says it is sparing nothing as it works to clear the city of snow following a dump of at least 15 centimetres overnight.

According to a Facebook post from city staff, every available public works employee has been deployed to clear city roads and sidewalks.

“The winter storm warning remains in effect with heavy and blowing snow,” the city of Chilliwack wrote at 9:15 a.m. “All available crews and equipment worked overnight on the roads and continue today. Crews are also clearing sidewalks, bus stops, and pedestrian crossings on the Vedder/Yale corridor.”

The city is asking motorists to limit travel to essential trips only until the weather improves.
