CHILLIWACK – Volunteers from a Chilliwack pet food bank society got a big morale boost during the month of April thanks to the generosity of the Chilliwack Dogwood Monarch Lions Club, and from a successful fundraiser held this past weekend.

Julie Chadwick from Zoey’s Pawsome Pet Society tells Fraser Valley Today that the non-profit pet food bank society based in Chilliwack was invited to the Chilliwack Dogwood Monarch Lions Club on Thursday, April 23 to be featured as their charity of the month. During their visit, they were surprised with a $10,000 cheque which will enable them to fund their seniors program, in partnership with the Chilliwack Community Services and the senior prescribing program.

“Part of our Zoey’s team got to meet Lion Tim and many more amazing Lions as well as seeing how the bingo games are done,” Chadwick said.

Two days later on Saturday, April 25, Zoey’s hosted its second annual Lend-A-Paw Fundraiser at Corky’s Irish Pub.
