BOSTON BAR — Fraser-Cascade School District has closed the Boston Bar Elementary-Secondary School due to the BC Hydro power outage that has left 551 customers without power in the rural Fraser Canyon community and related weather conditions.
SD78 posted on its website Tuesday morning: “Boston Bar Elementary Secondary School is closed today due to road conditions up the canyon and a power failure. Schools in Hope and Agassiz are open, but winter driving conditions are in effect.”
The post office is also closed in Boston Bar. According to a social media post on a Boston Bar Facebook page, the post office there is shuttered due to a lack of power. Access to lock boxes near the front door of the Boston Bar post office is also reportedly locked.
