Shots fired investigation underway in Ridge Meadows

RIDGE MEADOWS — Ridge Meadows RCMP are asking for the public’s help as officers investigate an early morning shooting in that community Friday (Jan. 5).

Authorities responded to reports of gunshots in the vicinity of 248 Street and Dewdney Trunk Road at 12:35 a.m. The initial results of the investigation indicated no one was injured. Police cordoned off the area to collect evidence.

In a news release, police say the Ridge Meadows RCMP Serious Crimes Unit (SCU) is spearheading the investigation and working to determine a motive behind the gunfire.

No other details are being released at this point.
