Chilliwack wins overtime thriller over division leaders

CHILLIWACK — Nico Grabas scored his sixth goal of the season at 3:11 of overtime to give the Chilliwack Chiefs a 3 – 2 victory over the Coastal Division leading Surrey Eagles.

Nathan Morin and Brian Morse also scored goals for the Chiefs who go into the Christmas break on a two-game winning streak and winners of eight of their last ten games.

Chilliwack outshot Surrey 37 to 29. Austin McNicholas picked up the victory in net.

The win leaves the Chiefs in a tie with Coquitlam for fifth place in the Coastal Division.

With the arrival of the Christmas break, all teams in the BCHL will get time off before action resumes December 29 when Chilliwack hosts Langley.
