Chilliwack Chiefs clip Nanaimo
CHILLIWACK — The Chilliwack Chiefs exploded for three goals over a span of 4:46 in the third period to snap a tie and defeat the Nanaimo Clippers 6 – 4 Saturday night in Nanaimo.
The game was tied 3 – 3 midway through the third period when Mateo Mrsic gave the Chiefs the lead. Just 3:19 later, Mrsic set up Brady Milburn to give Chilliwack a two goal lead. 1:27 later, Brian Morse gave Chilliwack a 6 – 3 lead.
Mrsic and Dylan Kinch both ended the game with a goal and two assists for Chilliwack. Other Chilliwack goal scorers were Elliot Dutil and Savin Virk. Vladimir Nikitin made 21 saves in the Chiefs net.
The Chiefs will travel to Surrey Friday for their next game.
