CHILLIWACK — STIHL TIMBERSPORTS has announced the 2023 National Championships will be staged at the Chilliwack Coliseum this summer. The event is scheduled for August 12 – 13 and will feature athletes from across the country.

In a news release, organizers say the top dozen Pro division athletes will compete in the individual competition for the title of champion. They’ll compete in three disciplines over the course of the first day of the event.

All 12 will compete in the Hot Saw competition on the second day, but only the top six from the first day will be eligible to combine their two-day total to determine a National winner. The person who emerges will win a trip to Germany to represent Canada at the World Championships.

Eight of the top females in the country will also compete in their own division. They will battle it out over four disciplines: the standing block chop, underhand chop, single buck and stock saw. The one with the highest point total will take home a championship and a berth into the International Women’s Cup in Europe.

“We are thrilled to be hosting the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Canadian Championships in Chilliwack, as it has been long overdue for us to be on the West Coast where so many of our fans and athletes reside,” said Andrew Kitt, Producer of STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Canada. “These athletes are the best of the best, and we can’t wait to see them compete in front of a live audience in British Columbia once again.”

Tickets for the event will go on sale April 26. They can be purchased online by clicking here. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Chilliwack Coliseum administration offices.
