About a week later, the same 42-year-old male did it again when he stole hockey cards from a big-box store in Mission. He was arrested after each theft.

MISSION — It seems like there’s very little deterrent stopping repeat offenders from committing petty crimes in B.C. these days, leaving police with few options to effectively stop repeat offenders and their life of crime.

This kind of situation unfolded earlier this week when Mounties in Mission caught up to a middle-aged male with a penchant for stealing goods from a retail store.

Mission RCMP wrote on Facebook this week that a 42-year-old stole more than $500 worth of hockey cards from a big-box store in Mission on Monday, March 27. RCMP officers located the male leaving the area, and arrested him for theft. All hockey cards were recovered, and the male was held for a bail hearing as he was also already on court-ordered conditions not to attend that store again, the RCMP wrote in its Facebook post. The name of the store was not identified.

On Tuesday, April 4, after the male had been released, Mission RCMP said he again visited the same store and again stole more hockey cards. Mission RCMP arrested the male once again, recovered the stolen property, and held the male in custody for another bail hearing.
