Major Crime Unit taking over investigation into stolen vehicle case in Abbotsford
ABBOTSFORD — Police investigators are asking for the public’s help in learning more about a vehicle that was taken from a residence in the 300 block of Ross Road Saturday evening.
In a news release, Abbotsford Police say a 62-year-old woman was robbed by five men wearing masks while she was outside her home around 8 p.m. The suspects used pulled out a gun while demanding money from the victim. Police say the suspects then made off with the woman’s vehicle. Although shaken the victim was not injured.
According to police, both the victim’s stolen vehicle and the suspect vehicle used to arrive at the victim’s property have been located and seized by police.
The Major Crime Unit of Abbotsford Police has taken over the investigation and is in the preliminary stages of determining whether the bizarre incident is targeted or random.
