21-year-old man taken into custody for impeding bus in Mission, threatening to kill police officer

MISSION – Mission RCMP say two people in their 20s were taken into custody last week for allegedly being drunk and hanging off the bike rack on the front of a bus, and one of the subjects later threatened to kill a police officer.

According to a statement from Mission RCMP spokesperson Corporal Harrison Mohr, Mission Mounties were called to a BC Transit bus on Cherry Avenue near Cade Barr Street due to “two drunk persons” hanging off the bike rack on the front of the bus, preventing the bus from driving.

Corporal Mohr says officers took a 21-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman into custody, at which time the man allegedly started trying to spit on the officer, and threatened to kill the officer.

Cpl. Mohr says both intoxicated individuals were held in custody to sober, and the bus was finally able to proceed in order to continue dropping off its passengers.
