Weapons call at Abbotsford retail store generates large police response Saturday

ABBOTSFORD – A spokesperson for the Abbotsford Police Department says multiple police officers responded to Walmart Saturday evening for a weapons-related call.

Abbotsford PD spokesperson Sgt. Paul Walker says police were contacted at 5:26 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 3) about a man who was allegedly holding a gun inside Walmart near the front of the store.

As a result, the nature of the call generated a large police response to the store, Sgt. Walker said. He said the caller started to become uncooperative during the call.

Officers arrived on scene and identified two people that had gotten into an altercation of some type. Sgt. Walker says both people were identified and cooperative with police.
