Political party pledges not to run a candidate in Chilliwack riding

CHILLIWACK – A right-leaning political party has pledged not to run a candidate in one of two Chilliwack ridings in the provincial election in October.

A spokesperson for OneBC, headed up by Dallas Brodie who was elected in the Vancouver-Quilchena riding in October 2024, has confirmed to Fraser Valley Today that the party will not run a candidate against Heather Maahs in the Chilliwack North riding.

Maahs won the riding by over 17 points in October 2024. The riding takes in Greendale, Rosedale, Popkum, and most of Chilliwack north of Highway 1.

The OneBC spokesperson, Wyatt Claypool, told Fraser Valley Today that the party will run someone in the Chilliwack-Cultus Lake riding. That candidate has not been announced.
