Chilliwack event to highlight local history through first-hand storytelling from local seniors

CHILLIWACK – Community members are invited to attend an inspiring evening of connection and community history that will bring local history to life through first-hand storytelling directly from Chilliwack’s senior community.

The event, “Living Library: The Stories of Chilliwack’s Seniors”, will be held on Thursday, October 15 at 7 p.m. in the multi-purpose room at Bethel Netherlands Reformed Church, 8920 Broadway, in Chilliwack.

The special fundraising gala brings local history to life through first-hand storytelling, rich wisdom, and remarkable tales of adventure shared directly by Chilliwack’s senior community. Guests will enjoy an intimate evening devoted to hearing local seniors share their personal life journeys while enjoying dessert and coffee.

All proceeds from the event directly support Compassionate Neighbours, a local, non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of Chilliwack seniors through essential community programs, care, and support services.

“Seniors carry the history and vibrant stories of our community,” said Angela Viljoen, PR & Fund Development Officer at Compassionate Neighbours. “The Living Library provides a unique platform to honour their experiences, foster intergenerational connections, and ensure that vital programs for Chilliwack’s seniors continue to thrive.”

Tickets are $40 per person, or $200 for a reserved table. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.zeffy.com/en-CA/ticketing/the-living-library.
